At the corner of Hubbard and LaSalle Streets 47 years ago, founder Lou Conte peered out his dance studio window as he contemplated the name for a dance company—at the time, just four of his students—who would perform vibrant, joyful pieces in community centers and retirement homes across Chicagoland. From that humble beginning, the company named in a fleeting moment has evolved into the industry-leading, boundary-pushing artistic home for countless choreographers and dancers known today as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

Hubbard Street's Season 47, the fourth season under Artistic Director Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, builds upon Conte's legacy of artistic excellence, risk-taking, and community to bring the Company's signature strength and precision—with sensitivity and passion—to audiences in Chicago and beyond.
