In Any Event is a new film by acclaimed choreographer Penny Saunders that compassionately peels back the complex layers of perspective, reflection, and memory that imbue life’s momentous occasions with meaning. At times poignant, humorous, and thought-provoking, this 35-minute work features the Hubbard Street Dancers at their best, in a beautiful and sweeping blend of solos, duets, and trios, performed amidst a dreamlike soundscape of chamber music and spoken word.

Filmed at the Walden Chicago.

Originally livestreamed on March 25, 27, and 28, 2021, this film is now available to watch—free of charge—as part of Season 43: A Virtual Homecoming, our season of free public art.
