Our Teen Repertoire Intensive is a three-week program ideal for dancers ages 13 – 17 who are focusing on advanced course work, and are considering a career in dance.
Program Objectives: To propel a dancer’s training through various disciplines, creative thinking, and risk-taking. Our program encourages artistic growth by building relationships with dancers interested in connecting with and learning about Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Dancers will be pushed outside of their artistic bounds, allowing for progression and advancement in their training.
Program Dates + Schedule:
July 15 - Aug 2, 2024
Classes are from approximately 9:15am – 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Participants must be available for the entire Program.
Program Curriculum: Dancers will attend daily technique classes, with training in the following genres: Contemporary, Horton, Ballet, Jazz, Improvisation, Floorwork, Ballroom, Tap, Hip-Hop, Latin Sculpt, Yoga, Pilates, Image Tech, and more! Dancers will learn repertory excerpts, including current works from Hubbard Street's Season 46 repertoire. Educational discussions are also embedded within the program schedule.
Program Structure: Dancers will be assigned groups as deemed appropriate by the Director of Summer Intensives. Class sizes in each cohort will range between 25 and 30 dancers. Onsite auditions for placement will not be held. A sharing for friends and family will be offered at the conclusion of the program (limit 2 guests per dancer).

Housing
Hubbard Street offers housing for students, just a short walk from the studios. Suites are air-conditioned, apartment-style housing with a 24-hour security guard. Each suite contains a common living space, kitchen, and shared bathroom. Apartments come with basic dorm-style furnishings. Kitchens are equipped with refrigerators, stove-top oven, and sink. Included in the cost of housing is wireless internet, utilities, and free laundry facilities. Resident Assistants live on-site to monitor students and plan activities on evenings and weekends.
A 5 or 10 weekly meal plan is offered at a separate cost. Dancers may also opt to prepare meals in their suites, or there are a number of restaurants and supermarkets in the immediate vicinity.
Registration for housing will become available at the time of program registration. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All housing fees are non-refundable. More details regarding our housing accommodations will be provided upon acceptance.
