Hubbard Street Youth Dance Program Showcase 2018

Friday, June 8, at 6:30pm and Saturday, June 9, at 11am and 1:30pm

To culminate the 2017/18 season of Hubbard Street’s Youth Dance Program, we will showcase our students in a year-end sharing of their class work. Each Primary and Secondary Division class will perform in one of the three Showcases.

All tickets will be available for pick up at Whitney Young’s Will Call during rehearsal times and prior to each show. 

All Primary and Secondary division students paid a $100 showcase fee, upon registration.  This fee goes towards showcase expenses, includes a Youth Dance Program t-shirt, and 2 tickets to be used for the showcase/s of your choosing.  Any additional tickets are $5 each, and will be available  at Whitney Young during rehearsals and prior to each show.

All rehearsals are closed to the public. Please plan appropriately for drop off and pick up.

Showcase Apparel Requirements

No jewelry, watches, or headbands. Small stud earrings are allowed. Level C&D – No glasses.

Hair neatly pulled back. Neat bun is required for ballet.

Some dancers will be required to wear a Youth Dance Program t-shirt for the showcase.

One t-shirt was included in your Showcase fee, paid at registration, and will be available for pick up at the studio. If your dancer needs more than one t-shirt, shirts are $15 and may be purchased during office hours from Youth Dance Program staff.  CASH OR CREDIT.

For rehearsals and performances, we’ll need 2-3 parent volunteers in each of the 4 holding rooms to monitor dancers while they are not on stage. A digital sign-up will be sent out via email, and a hard-copy sign-up posted at the studio. If interested in volunteering, please sign-up or notify Manager, Jenn Gunter, at of your interest and availability to help out.

Free parking is available in the Whitney Young High School lot, located behind the Arts Building on Van Buren Street. For Public Transportation, coming from the Loop, take the #126 Jackson bus west towards Austin, or take the Blue Line El Train, to the Racine stop.

  • Rehearsals are closed - family and friends can wait in the lobby, or drop off and pick up dancers during designated arrival and dismissal times – see attached schedule.
  • Please be prompt for your child’s designated arrival and dismissal rehearsal and showcase time 
  • Ticket seating will be General Admission (first come, first served). We will have reserved seating for family members who require a wheelchair, are pregnant, or have other accessibility needs   
  • No flash photography during the showcase. Video recording is permitted, as long as it doesn’t disturb fellow patrons. Cell phones must be silenced or turned off during the performances.
  • No food or beverage in the theatre.
