Parent-Child Mini-Camp
Ages 18 months to 3 years
Monday - Thursday Camp includes four one-hour classes from 10-11am. $85 per child.
Aug 20-23
Caregivers are an essential part of this class, in which we bounce, swing, twirl, and jump accompanied by vibrant music and stories.
Little Movers Camps
Ages 3 to 5 years
Monday - Friday from 9-12:30pm. $250 per child, per week.
June 18-22 August 13-17
Students wiggle and giggle as they establish a lifelong love of dance, exploring their world through creative movement activities, dancing stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Going on a Bear Hunt.

Dance Explorers Camps
Ages 5 to 9
Must be entering Kindergarten by fall 2018
Mondays through Fridays from 9am – 4pm
One week: $450
Two weeks: $425/week
Three or more weeks: $400/week
After-care available, Monday-Thursday, from 4-6pm for just $90 per week.
Calling young dance artists! For new and experienced movers, Dance Explorers Camp encourages energetic students to discover their creative voice and perform together! Each camp includes a fun, take-home costume piece. Campers will have time outside daily, in addition to dance classes.

Musical Theater
Young dancers have the most amazing imaginations! Through acting and dancing, students embody a variety of characters from Broadway musicals, develop confidence and stage presence, and explore the unique style of dance used in the theater world.
Dancing Stories
Students will bring stories to life as they learn adapted excerpts of traditional story ballets. Explore the foundations of traditional ballet technique through the lens of classical favorites such as Cinderella, Coppélia, and Firebird.
Intro to Hip-Hop
Personal voice and style are at the core of hip-hop dance. Through the traditions, music, and movement of this dynamic dance form, students develop the confidence to share their story in a new way.
Dance Ninjas
In this energetic exploration of dance styles, dancers will improve their ninja skills. Throughout the week students will learn to walk with sneaky silence, sprint and pounce like a cat, and create a mysterious “dance of the ninjas.” All black attire is welcome and encouraged.

Dance and Film
June 18-22
Ages 9-16
Explore new ideas in choreography on and off camera in this exciting new camp. Students will study choreography created for film and then work in groups to create and edit their own dance films. All films will be presented to friends and family the final day of class.
Sleeping Beauty
June 25-29
Ages 9-16
Dancers will learn and perform an adaptation of the famous ballet, Sleeping Beauty, while gaining a deeper understanding of dance history and traditional ballet narrative.
Teen Workshop
August 13-17
Ages 12 and up
For teens looking to advance their dance training and spend a week doing what they love! Students will take classes in ballet, modern, jazz, Pilates, yoga, and composition in an exacting, yet encouraging environment, and will perform for family and friends at the end of the week.
Hip-Hop Workshop
August 6-10
For ages 9-18
Dancers will develop the fundamentals of hip-hop – rhythm, personal style, and musicality – as they progress to their next level. In this one-week workshop, each day will be devoted to a specific style within hip-hop: breaking, house, and vogue, giving dancers the opportunity to study the history and development of the branches within hip-hop.
Next Gen: Girls Lead
August 13-17
Ages 9-14
Connecting dance experiences with leadership and life-skills training, the Dance Leadership curriculum on the touchstones: Action, Support, Curiosity, Challenge, and Resilience with a kinesthetic, affective, and cognitive component to each. Our programs are taught by professional dance artists who are working in the field and hold advanced degrees in dance. This one-week workshop cultivates creativity, leadership, and wellness in and through dance.
Back to Class Bootcamp

Get ready for the school year and prevent injury with our Back to Class Bootcamp. Three days of conditioning, stretching, and strengthening will make sure you are ready to start the year off right.
Junior Intensive Summer Preparatory Program

Program Details
Ages 9-13
9am – 4 pm, Monday - Friday
The Junior Intensive Summer Preparatory Program is a rigorous summer training program for the young pre-professional student. A minimum of two years of continuous ballet training is required.
Spend your summer doing what you love and find new friends who love dance just as much as you! Dancers will spend their days dancing, while evenings and weekends they get to exploring the city with new friends, as well as doing fun activities and crafts. A presentation for family and friends concludes each session.
Video submissions will be accepted through May 1. Prospective students must also upload a formal ballet headshot and a photo in First Arabesque.
4 - 5 daily classes, Monday–Friday, led by Chicago’s finest dance faculty
Daily ballet and pointe or pre-pointe strengthening classes, as well as classes in contemporary, modern, composition, and repertoire. Seminars for young dancers including cross training, dance history, dance critique, and physical therapy.
Session 1: July 9-20
Session 2: July 23-August 3
$1200 per session, includes lunch
If there is sufficient interest, housing can be provided in shared rooms on the UIC Campus, half a mile from the Hubbard Street Dance Center. Complete housing details will be sent with acceptance information. 2018 costs available January 1.
