Hubbard Street's Winter and Spring Intensives explore in great depths the company's repertoire, the creative process, and improvisational techniques and choreography.
Our intensives held in January and March are by invitation only, and are designed to allow advanced dancers to connect with our artists for in-depth study based on the latest repertoire at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. The content of each workshop is carefully selected to challenge participants productively, by bringing them into the day-to-day experiences of Hubbard Street’s world-renowned dancers.
These Intensives were created specifically for exceptionally talented pre-professional dancers. Each workshop is strictly limited to 30 participants to ensure sufficient personal attention.
Acceptance through the 2018 Summer Intensive auditions or by special selection qualifies ages 16+ to be invited to all of Hubbard Street's Intensive Programs.

March 19-23, 2018
The 2018 Spring Intensive focuses on the work of Resident Choreographer, Alejandro Cerrudo, who has been choreographing for Hubbard Street for ten years. Students will take ballet, improvisation, Qi Gong, Flying Low, and ImageTech from faculty including Alexandra Wells, Sarah Cullen Fuller, and Elia Mrak. Dancers will also learn excerpts of Cerrudo’s work, taught by former Hubbard Street dancer Meredith Dincolo. The week will culminate with an end-of-the week showing.
The week culminates in an optional audition for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago on March 25. Audition fees will be waived for Spring Intensive students. Learn more about company auditions here.
