Hubbard Street’s Adaptive Dance Programs create environments in which everyone dances. Spectrum Friendly and Adaptive Dance residencies and workshops provide a clear, structured curriculum, developed collaboratively with the Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays at the University of Illinois at Chicago (RCADD). Our curriculum uses dance-specific visual supports to ensure success for all students alongside professional development for staff and classroom teachers to support student learning. Students explore dance technique and the choreographic process using developmentally appropriate methods. Suitable for self-contained special education classrooms as well as specialty schools and occupational therapy.
"Students are excited for dance class! They are remembering the vocabulary and are able to act out each word. They are being more open minded and challenging themselves to come up with more intricate moves. They are also encouraging and clapping for each other." - CPS School Teacher
