HSDC’s Annual Gala

Just under 600 corporate, foundation and civic leaders shared the spotlight with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago at the Spotlight Ball raising $650,000 which will help support Hubbard Street’s education, community and artistic programming.

The evening began with cocktails and an opportunity to participate in a raffle and silent auction of high-end goods including an incredible HD package; a three-day, VIP access for two to the 2010 Lollapalooza; Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and White Sox tickets; various Hubbard Street insider experiences, including the ability to watch an HSDC performance from the wings of the Harris Theater, and more.

Following the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a 3-course dinner prepared by Hilton Chicago’s renowned Chef Mario Garcia.  Led by Master of Ceremonies Ron Magers of ABC7News, the 2010 Spotlight Ball recognized two significant inaugural Spotlight Award recipients – Sandra P. Guthman, President and CEO of the Polks Bros. Foundation, and Northern Trust, represented by Sherry Barrat, President, Personal Financial Services – for their ongoing and unparalleled impact on Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, in addition to being major benefactors of the arts and arts education throughout Chicago. After a mini-performance by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, staring gala attendees, the City’s hottest cover band Maggie Speaks had guests up on the dance floor for the remainder of the evening.
