All fees must be paid during the time of class sign-in. LCDS accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and personal checks.

Dance Classes for Educators

Expand your appreciation, understanding and knowledge of dance or awaken a childhood passion by taking a dance class at the Lou Conte Dance Studio at a special discounted rate available to full-time teachers and specialists currently working in a school community. Illinois State Board of Education re-certification credits (CEU’s/CPDU’s) available. More information.

Single class rate: $8 per class

This discount must be reapplied for each year, regardless of previous eligibility. Discount ID cards expire September 1st of each year.

10 Class Card: 40% off, LCDS restrictions apply

Only full-time, K-12 educators and curriculum specialists are eligible for this discount. Administrative, support and student services staff are not eligible; nor graduate students, student teachers or university-level faculty and staff. Discount limited to educators working in Illinois’ Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage and Will counties.

 

Scholarships

The LCDS scholarship program is for dancers at an advanced level who are pursuing a career in dance. It is a financial-assistance program with dues of $27.50 per week. Dancers are required to take 12 technique classes each week in ballet, jazz, modern and pilates, all at the advanced/professional level. Auditions are held by appointment. Please contact the Associate Director for more information.

The Fall 2008 Scholarship Program starts September 2. Audition appointments will be scheduled until August 22, 2008.

 

Work-Study

LCDS’ work-study program allows students to take classes at the studio in exchange for working at the front desk. Duties include customer services such as checking-in clients, handling payments and maintaining student records, as well as general office work such as answering phones, relaying messages and fielding questions. Provides light administrative support as needed.  Requires excellent organizational and customer services skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment with detailed accuracy and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with agility. Proficiency with standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary. Please contact the Office Manager for more information.
