A leader in the mentorship and training of rising professional dancers, the Northwest Professional Dance Project introduces LAUNCH, our new project designed for the professional dancer wanting opportunities to see and be seen early in the audition season. Dancers will work concentrated days alongside leading Artistic Directors.

Workshops will emphasize movement exploration, improvisation and choreographic mastery.

Open to dancers 16 to 25 years old. Dancers must apply and audition. Auditions are a minimum of two hours with no cuts. New York audition Nov. 23, Portland audition Nov. 30.

Dancers interested in our Project Company (The PC) are auditioned through their participation in our LAUNCH Projects.

Early application (received at least 1 week prior to audition) is recommended.

LINES Ballet School Summer Program 2009

Registration: 3:00-4:00 p.m.

LINES Ballet School offers two summer intensives for intermediate, advanced, and pre-professional dancers, ages 11-24.

This intense program is designed for aspiring artists with a focus on exposing young dancers to process-oriented work that explores a variety of dance techniques with ballet as their core discipline. A high priority is placed on educating dancers on the care and maintenance of their bodies while honing their individual voices.

LINES Ballet School offers a unified philosophy that encourages the dancers’ ability to recognize their individual gifts and express themselves with fluency through exploration and observation. Summer Program students experience a rigorous schedule of classes that include: Ballet, Pointe, Men’s Class, Partnering, Improvisation, Modern, LINES Ballet repertoire, and GYROTONIC®. Each summer session culminates with a student performance of works created by choreographers from all over the world.

Nashville Ballet

Registration from 1-2 p.m.

Nashville Ballet will be holding company auditions on Saturday, March 14 at Hubbard Street Dance. Registration is at 1 p.m. and Class will be at 2 p.m. A $20.00 audition fee is required. Dancers need to bring a head shot along with a photo in First arabesque (en pointe for ladies). Pointe work will be required at the audition. Video/DVD auditions will be accepted from students who live outside of a 100-mile radius of the closest tour city. DVD’s must have musical accompaniment and include 5-minute barre and 5-minute center. Ladies center portion must be en pointe. Please send resume with video/disc and a $30.00 audition fee to:
