A rare glimpse of the choreographic talent within the company
INSIDE/OUT CHOREOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP
RAW • CHALLENGING • ADVENTUROUS
Through Inside/Out Hubbard Street dancers are able to take on the role of choreographer as they create their own works and set them on fellow company members over a four-week period. The result is an amazing evening comprised of fresh and fun pieces that may ultimately be brought into Hubbard Street's repertoire.
On January 17, 2014 a studio showing of the 13th annual Inside/Out Choreographic Workshop was held at Hubbard Street's West Loop facility. Part of the Choreographic Development Initiative, Inside/Out allows company dancers and artistic team members to develop their choreographic skills and their understanding of all elements of dance production, including rehearsal management, marketing, creative rights, and costume and lighting design. A larger, more fully developed version of the 2014 Inside/Out Choreographic Workshop will take place later this summer at the UIC Theater. Please check back soon for further information about that production.

Hubbard Street is committed to developing a corps of creative artists and choreographers from within the organization. Given this deep commitment, the expenses of "Inside/Out" are considered part of the institution’s annual operating budget. However, the two-week creative process in the studios combined with the costumes, lighting and public performances is a substantial undertaking.
You can show your support for nurturing the creativity of Hubbard Street artists by making a tax-deductible gift to support the workshop and subsequent public performances today!
