Hubbard Street Dance Chicago moves the art of dance forward, contributing to the art form’s evolution through the development of new diverse choreography. Choreographic development initiatives have become a staple of Hubbard Street’s programming, which include the “Inside/Out” Choreographic Workshop, during which HSDC dancers create original choreography with their peers; the Choreographic Fellowship, which identifies and develops emerging choreographic talent within the company; and the annual National Choreographic Competition.

Dancers Alejandro Cerrudo, Robyn Mineko-Williams, and Artistic Associate Terence Marling have all developed works for Hubbard Street. Cerrudo is currently HSDC's first Resident Choreographer and has developed eight new works for the company.
